On July 2, 2014 the dahlia flowers started to really open up. Oddly enough, though Oregon has a large commercial dahlia business, Sharon was never able to get this result when we lived in Oregon. Growing them in pots probably would have been the answer. Our clay soil and too much shade probably defeated us.
