Sound Off

Brimfield undermining 'just war’ on terror

Sound Off:

I am sick and tired of the Communist protestors on the Brimfield Town Common. They are frightening children, who don’t feel comfortable playing on the common when they are there.

These people are locked in the twisted world of the early 1970s, when radical hippies protested everything, just because they felt good rebelling against the status quo. Most of these protesters on the common are the same radical pinkos from back in the ’70s. They are merely trying to relive their past by protesting, just like they did

in the "good old days." Unfortunately, they are dragging along their children and grandchildren with them, therefore attempting to raise a new generation of Communists.

The war against terror is a just war, and people like these protesters are only helping the enemy. Lest we forget what happened on 9/11. We cannot forget. Instead of protesting, we should get back to that feeling that we all had after 9/11. How quick we all are to forget that feeling of fear, but still that wonderful feeling of patriotism. Where has it gone? Put out your flag.

What happened to all the flags? They were on homes, on cars, and proudly displayed everywhere. Instead, the flags have been brought in, and the radicals have come out.

I urge our local citizens to stop the protesting. Please display your American flags proudly, please support our troops and rally around our president. We must continue to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan, so we are not attacked at home. Please give our town common back to the children.
